Non-Invasive Laser Treatment for Your Pet
In addition to the more traditional medical care you might expect from a vet, at our Elk River location, we offer laser therapy which can be a far less invasive treatment for some problems causing your pet pain or discomfort.
Pet Laser Therapy at Barrington Oaks North Animal Clinic
Our laser therapy services are a noninvasive procedure that uses light pulses to treat injured or hurt areas. This laser can help cells to regenerate and can help increase blood circulation to injured areas. Using laser therapy is still a relatively new idea for use in veterinary medicine, but overall, the results have been outstanding.
Laser treatment is intended to help with acute injuries, chronic injuries and pain, back disc problems, and muscular-skeletal abnormalities. Laser treatment can also help regenerate nerves that may have been harmed as a result of surgery. Laser therapy is non-invasive and is used to reduce pain, ease the amount of inflammation your pet may be suffering from, and overall make healing easier and faster.

The technical term for our laser therapy is “photo-bio-modulation”, and in using this manner of treatment, laser light is delivered through a handpiece to directly treat the place on the pet that is injured. Many pets seem to find the treatment soothing as the laser creates warmth and a general feeling of well-being. In just a matter of minutes, the treatment is over, and your pet will begin to feel better.
Some of the more common treatments for this laser light include:
- Degenerative Joint Disease
- Lick Granuloma
- Hip Dysplasia
- Feline Acne.
On top of these conditions, the laser can be beneficial in treating a temporary sprain or strain to help with the speed of recovery, and the laser can help recover from surgery.
